Are you dealing with DISC issues?

We often see patients who suffer with low back and neck pain. In some cases, these problems are associated with tight muscles, poor posture and misalignment of the vertebrae. Many times, pain in the low back and neck are due to the Intervertebral Disc (IVD). Our spine is made up of 24 movable vertebrae, and in between the vertrebrae are IVD’s. The disc act as shock absorbers and a cushion for the everyday activities our body undergoes. Common disc symptoms may include: neck and low back pain, pain that radiates down into the legs and/or arms, increased pain into those areas when coughing and sneezing, and numbness and tingling.

A safe way to treat disc issues, which include bulging, herniated disc, degenerative disc disease and spinal stenosis, is Spinal Decompression. As we age, our disc loses height and fluid and can eventually lead to pressure being put on the spinal cord and associated nerves. Spinal decompression acts as a vacuum to the disc and takes pressure off the spinal cord and decreasing and/or eliminating symptoms.

Is my Child too young for Chiropractic Health Care?

This is a question we hear so many times in our office and the answer is NO.

Chiropractic is a safe approach to helping the child develop structurally and neurologically throughout their childhood.

Why would my child need chiropractic? Kids will go through more bumps and bruises during their youth than most other times in their lives.  Their spine will take the punishment throughout this phase of their lives.  Chiropractic has been shown to help with colic, ear infections, scoliosis and many more conditions.

A chiropractor finds the misalignment and corrects it in a safe, natural approach.  When the spine is aligned the child will feel fine!

Spine getting on your nerves?

Chiropractic has been constantly evolving since it was established in 1895.  Many people use chiropractic care for different reasons.  Some are pain based symptoms, while others are wellness based.  Before we answer this we must first understand the nervous system.

Our central nervous system (CNS) includes our brain and our spinal cord.  The CNS controls and regulates our entire body, from the movement of the muscles to the beating of the heart.  The CNS is encased and protected by our spinal column.

Chiropractors are trained extensively to evaluate the spinal column and to remove a subluxation by adjusting the vertebrae.  Subluxation is a misalignment of the vertebrae that produces nerve irritation or interference.  When the CNS is able to operate without interference our whole body works better.  A person can have subluxations with no apparent signs or symptoms.
